Vista’s Disk Defragmenter

Don’t know whether Vista’s Disk Defragmenter is really working in the background…If it does, reaaaally slow. The interface for this new defrag tool is very simple, but you’re unable to determine the progress and estimated time while it’s running defrag. Kind of miss defragger in XP…

  1. Yeah, when i upgraded to Vista, i also upgraded my defragger. Tred various third party tools and fnally settled for Diskeeper to defrag my huge drives. The background defrag helps save time spent on running manual defrags and the great GUI helps to keep track of the progress.

  2. Bah, the Vista defragger sucks. Just get Diskeeper 2008 instead; it’s the best defragmenter around. It’s far superior to the vista defragger, and comes with a host of features and controls, yet is very easy to use.
