Got an email today from one of colleagues… It’s pretty funny…

“I was very depressed last night so I called Lifeline.

I got a call center in Pakistan and I told them I was suicidal.

They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.”

Another subway train problem in the morning rush hour at our station… Riders had no idea why no uptown bound trains since there was no sign and announcement in the station. Some riders chose wait and see; and most of them took buses to nearby train stations; see if they could catch other trains to work. MTA has more problems than service these years… Tunnels flooded, power outage on tracks, dirty and steamy hot in summer; and still thinking about fare hike.

After watching Obama and Huckabee won the Iowa Caucuses, I’m thinking about the Election 2000, in which Al Gore lost to George Bush by Electoral votes. Even though there is no connection between these two events, I still like to google about how electoral college works in US.

I’m not good at political stuffs, but rethinking what had happened during the last eight years under President Bush. Realized how important in choosing a Presidential candidate. Don’t want to get into the details of chaos around the world… I’m reading how Electoral College works and 10 reasons Al Gore lost Florida…

Got our piano today…kids are very happy about it; they expect this for their Christmas gift, but we don’t find one until last weekend. It’s an used one but in very good condition. It still has 4 years warranty left from Steinway & Sons; however, the warranty cannot be transferred to the new owner, sad

We found the piano mover from Craigslist… can’t tell what is the different between this piano mover and regular moving company. Arrived with a liftgated truck and some cloth in this rainy morning; claimed his company is insured which I doubted it. They don’t look like professional… Can get a mover on New Year’s day, we’re lucky already. Can’t complain too much.

Verizon DLS customer service>>> last night, my Internet connection was on and off for two hours. I tried basic routines provided by Verizon’s automatic phone system – power off modem, router, computer and reboot. After trying all of them, I still couldn’t get online. I decided to call DSL Tech Support…Luck me, waiting for only less than 1 minute (usually 5 to 15 mins for Verizon). At that minute he picked me up, my connection was back up. Anyway, he said he is going to troubleshoot just in case it happened again. First he told me that he is going to run a line test, which was no problem at that time (of course, that’s all they said). Then I was told to login into westell modem model# 2200 but failed to connect via Safari, don’t know why. He finally gave up and asked me to login into Linksys router, which all the settings in it matched what he told me.

Now here comes the conclusion, he asked me to rate customer service from 1 to 5…I said that i would rate 3. What he told me is only 1 to 2 or 3 to 4 and there is no 3. Uhhhh… haha. that’s interesting.
